The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park offers 186 miles of spectacular walking and is just a 5 minute walk away.

Fishguard has a theatre/cinema, sports centre, swimming pool, good selection of local eateries, pubs and restaurants as well as gift shops and galleries, a weekly farmers market and supermarkets.

There are plenty of things to do locally including horse riding, golf, fishing, swimming, kayaking and sailing.

Lower Town Harbour is postcard pretty and you can watch the local fishermen landing their catch.

Strumble Head is famous for birdwatching, spotting dolphins and even sharks! Fishguard Ferry Port has daily sailings (you can go for a day trip) to Ireland and is less than a mile away.

The cottage has recently undergone extensive refurbishment and makes a perfect holiday retreat.

This picture perfect cottage is situated in the Gwaun Valley, Near Newport in North Pembrokeshire.

This magical valley hasn't changed much in the last hundred years and it's a beautiful place to relax and unwind in the heart of the National Park.

The famous Bessie's pub is just a hundred yards or so from the cottage and you will get beer served from an old enamel jug just like it always used to be done. (re-opening end of May 2019 hopefully).

The cottage is just over 4 miles from the towns of Newport, Fishguard and Dinas which all have a selection of good eateries, pubs, shops and galleries.

There are lots of beaches and coves to explore such as Newport Sands, Cwm yr Eglwys with its pretty ruined church and Pwllgwaelod which has a horseshoe shaped beach.

If that wasn't enough there is the 186 miles of Pembrokeshire Coastal path with its stunning scenery and wealth of flora and fauna and finally the mystical Preseli Hills, famed for being the source of the bluestones of Stonehenge, to walk and explore.

Newport is just 3 miles away and known as the pearl of the Pembrokeshire coast.  It has a selection of great pubs, superb restaurants, galleries, individual shops and a weekly Produce Market.

Ceibwr Bay is also well worth a visit, there is a small pebble beach here and seals are often spotted along this part of the coast.

There is also an excellent 18 hole links golf course just above Newport Sands which enjoys panoramic views of the beach and Newport.

The hamlet of Iet-y-Bontpren is located at one end of Dinas Cross which is between the seaside towns of Newport and Fishguard.

The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path can be joined nearby and the coastal walkers bus (and the service bus) pass the house.  A walk along the coastal path not only provides superb scenery, you may also see seals, birds and even dolphins and porpoise.  If you need more of an adrenaline rush try a Coasteering adventure.

Dinas Island, Strumble Head, Newport beach, Cwm-yr-Eglwys beach and Pwllgwaelod beach are all within 10 to 20 minutes drive.  Newport and Fishguard both have a weekly Farmers Market and plenty of galleries, individual shops, eateries and pubs.  The holiday cottage is perfect for families and for walking and cycling holidays.

There are grounds amounting to about half an acre - with parking area, lawns, picnic table, woodland shrubbery, enclosed fishpond, a stream and a natural spring.

Within walking distance of the delightful beaches at Cwm yr Eglwys and Pwllgwaelod, this semi-detached National Trust owned farm house offers peace, seclusion and a near perfect location on a working farm in north Pembrokeshire.

The traditional slate fronted farm house is situated in a sheltered position on Dinas Island and the walk around the island (actually a promontory headland) is part of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and has been awarded the AA Walk of the Year numerous times and featured in The Times 20 Great British Walks.

Every effort has been made to ensure that your stay will be comfortable and welcoming. There is an excellent pub "The Old Sailors" with restaurant overlooking the beach and nearby, in the village, a further selection of pubs and village shops.

If you are bringing a dog on holiday with you, there are two dog friendly beaches within a 15 minute walk, plus the lovely walk around the headland for them to enjoy too.

Within 200 yards of the delightful beach at the Parrog in Newport, this simple and un-fussy, secluded property makes an ideal base for a relaxing holiday in north Pembrokeshire.

There are numerous shops, craft shops, restaurants and pubs within walking distance as well as direct access to the Coastal Path.

At low tide you can walk across the Estuary to the Traeth Mawr (Newport Sands) with its extensive silver sands and patrolled swimming area. Head west along the coast path at low tide to discover two lesser known small beaches at Bettws and Cwm - both great for rock pooling and only a 5 minute walk from the property.

A favourite pursuit with local children is to catch crabs from the sea wall on the Parrog at high tide using a string and bacon as bait.
