The north of the Pembrokeshire National Park offers more rugged terrain than that of the south, small harbours dotted along the coast and hidden inlets abound.

Newport, Cardigan and Fishguard are within 15 minutes' drive and offer shops, restaurants, pubs and access to the Coastal Path.

The river Nevern is the boundary to the 4 acres of grounds and there is private river fishing (during fishing season) which you are free to enjoy along one side of the river bank (you will need a rod license).

Other nearby places of interest are: The Neolithic Burial Chamber at Pentre Ifan, Castell Henllys Iron Age Fort and The Preseli Hills which offer excellent walking.

Y Cartws 2185 (sleeps 2) is close-by for larger parties wishing to holiday together.

Dinas has a couple of village shops, cafe, fish and chip shop and pubs which serve food as well as Pwllgwaelod and Cwm yr Eglwys beaches.

Newport and Fishguard offer a wider range of shops and restaurants.

The house is on a bus route and makes a perfect base for a great holiday.

Traeth Mawr (Big Beach) can be walked to at low tide by crossing the estuary or you can take a longer walk around the bird sanctuary estuary and the coastal path.

Just over a mile from the spectacular coastal path and the sea, situated opposite the secluded medieval church in the delightful hamlet of Granston between Fishguard and St Davids, this cottage makes an ideal base for couples or small families.

This stretch of coastline has magnificent cliffs where wildlife abounds with seabirds, seals, beautiful spring flowers and wild ponies. The Strumble Shuttle coastal path walkers bus can be flagged down outside the cottage and enables you to walk various parts of the coastal path during your holiday. 

St David's, with its medieval cathedral, is nearby, as is Fishguard, with its harbour and weekly farmers' market; both offer excellent shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants.

Close by are beaches of Abermawr, excellent for surfing, and the more sheltered cove of Aberbach, as well as Tregwynt Woollen Mill, Strumble Head lighthouse, and Mathry with its cafe and friendly pub.
