The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park

not only covers the coastline and beaches of North & South Pembrokeshire, it also includes the Preseli Hills and the areas round the Daugleddau Estuary and the Carew, Cleddau & Cresswell rivers.

Is is also the only truly coastal national park in the whole of the UK and one of only three national parks in Wales. Boasting some of the most spectacular coastal views the UK has to offer it also contains mile upon mile of wooded, moorland and mountain walks.

The Parks Authority and Pembrokeshire County Council

have made strenuous efforts to make all parts the Park accessible to walkers without the necessity of taking your car.

The longest and most spectacular walk is the Coastal Path that runs from St Dogmaels in the North to Amroth in the South, a distance of over 180 miles. The route is generally along the cliff tops, so the views are always stunning. It is not a particularly easy walk in that some sections involve a fair bit steep cliff walking. However, the creation of several tourist bus routes makes it possible for you to walk just a short section each day.

Pembrokeshire National Park by Bus!

There are five bus services: Poppit Rocket, Strumble Shuttle, Celtic Coaster, Puffin Shuttle and the Coastal Cruiser. These are in addition to the normal local bus services. Find time tables for all buses in Pembrokeshire here...

The entire length of the coastline is now served by public transport, so that you can ride to your destination and walk back or walk there and ride back.

Walking in the Pembrokeshire National Park

The Coastal Path is easily the most well publicised, but there are a lot of other possibilities in the Park:
The National Park's Walking Routes and the National Park's own guide to 200 Circular Walks in the Park.
